Local Area Agreement

The Bristol Local Area Agreement is an agreement between the Bristol Local Strategic Partnership and Central Government. It sets out the direction for Bristol for the next 3 years.

It is important because the plans of the agencies that make up the Bristol Partnership are designed to improve performance against these targets.

There are 29 Designated Indicators (DIs), 16 Statutory Indicators (SIs) that set targets for Children and Young People, and 2 Local indicators (LIs) that we have chosen to add in locally.

LAA 2 - Self Assessment

We are currently undertaking a self assessment of our LAA. This forms part of our evidence for the CAA report, and looks at our performance almost exactly half-way through the 3 year period that the agreement covers.

Step 1 - All NI owners attended a workshop to discuss how they support the 4 top level outcomes

Step 2 - NI Owners to produce Report Cards and submit by 23rd Oct

Step 3 - Exec Board to discuss an agree the opportunties and barriers for next year to be agreed by 18 Dec.

Comprehensive Area Assessment

In April 2009, the Audit Commission introduced a new way of assessing how public services are delivered locally.

Called the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), it replaces the previous performance assessment regime - Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), which was more focused on individual organisations such as the council.

The new assessment framework will provide an annual picture of how effectively local partnerships are working together to deliver resident's priorities and improving their quality of life.
