Joint intelligence Group (JIG)

The JIG is a new group to support the intelligence needs of the Bristol Partnership. The Group will identify data, evidence and analytical resources, co-ordinate needs assessments, neighbourhood profiles and consultations that are related to joint activity and support and steer intelligence based on the 31 action areas in the 20:20 Plan.

The JIG has produced a Joint Intelligence Map of data sources and skills across the partnership and more recently the 14 Neighbourhood Partnership Statistical Profiles that can be downloaded here.

The JIG has also been looking at ways to pull together contextual information from partners that relates to the 31 action areas and will produce a coordinated intelligence report in the autumn of 2010.

The JIG includes data and research professionals and representatives from Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Safer Bristol, NHS Bristol, Greater Western Ambulance, Bristol City Council and Avon Fire Service.

The JIG meets quarterly and will support the Governance Group with intelligence and contextual information as necessary. The last meeting was on the 6th May and the next is planned for 5th August 2010.
